Crossnore Communities for Children

Crossnore Communities for Children is currently offering a limited number of unpaid Clinical Internships at our Avery campus in Crossnore, NC, starting Spring semester of 2022. We invite you to complete our quick application to be considered.

  • Crossnore Communities for Children can host Clinical Interns pursuing degrees in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Counseling, Psychology, and related fields.
  • Priority is given to master's level students pursuing degrees in Counseling, Social Work, and Marriage and Family Counseling. Bachelor's level students may also be considered based on availability (and minimum age requirement is 21).
  • Internships are typically limited to normal business hours 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM, Monday - Friday and are typically limited to not more than 30 hours per week.
  • Clinical interns may obtain experience in a variety of settings including: Outpatient Clinic, Case Management, Foster Care and Adoptions, and Group Foster Care.
  • Typical intern learning opportunities vary based on degree. Interns may gain experience providing or observing individual, family, and group counseling, complete assessments and intakes, develop individual service plans, document services, complete and score standardized assessments (such as the SDQ), make referrals, and case consultation.

Effective October 1, 2021 Crossnore Communities for Children is requiring new hires and interns (excluding those with an approved medical or religious exemption) to be vaccinated for COVID 19 as a condition of employment to help ensure the safety of all employees, youth and families served.
