Crossnore Communities for Children

Mental Health Professionals (QP) in our Day Treatment Program provide therapeutic services to school children (kindergarten through 12th grade), who either live in the community or reside on campus. We provide programming (5 days a week) which includes: treatment groups, psycho-educational groups, individual counseling, family counseling, multi-family groups, and individualized support in the classroom setting. Our program utilizes a structured environment concentrating on strengths, skill building, and problem solving through group milieu and individual intervention. We provide interventions that address the reduction of mental health symptoms, the improvement of behavioral functioning, increased coping and relational skills, and an enhanced ability to function in an educational and community setting. Status: Exempt, Full-Time hours through the end of the school year (June 2022). Position will be evaluated at that time and considered for ongoing role.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Professional credential which includes: Master degree in a human services or related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of one year supervised clinical experience working with children and families; or Bachelor degree in a human services or related field from an accredited college or university with two years postgraduate experience working with children and adolescents.
  • General knowledge of the state child welfare and mental health systems required.
  • Considerable knowledge of family and group dynamics, a range of intervention techniques, resources in the community, and regulations and policies which impact youth.
  • Bi-lingual skills preferred (Spanish).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of a variety of computer software programs. Professional (written and verbal) communication skills, and excellent organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to use sound discretion and independent judgment in developing and implementing decisions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cultural issues that can affect treatment.
  • Ability to operate well in crisis situations.
  • Ability to work well with others within a team structure and is flexible in the work setting.
  • Valid Driver's License, and must be willing to travel to various job related locations.

Effective October 1, 2021 Crossnore Communities for Children is requiring new hires (excluding those with an approved medical or religious exemption) to be vaccinated for COVID 19 as a condition of employment to help ensure the safety of all employees, youth and families served.
