Crossnore Communities for Children is looking for individuals with huge hearts to join us as Residential Advisors in our Winston-Salem location. We are looking for dedicated, well-organized people who enjoy caring for teenage youth.

Residential Advisors will support residents in developing and practicing transitional independent living skills. Using a professional, team-oriented, trauma-informed approach, Residential Advisors will provide a safe and supportive environment conducive to growth in physical, social, educational, vocational, emotional, cultural, recreational, and spiritual development.

Each residence is home to up to 6 teens, with teams of Residential Advisors onsite, serving alternate shifts of 7 days on/7 days off.

Hiring Range: $30,850 to $36,000 annually

Requirements & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree in human services or related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 2 years of experience working with teenage youth or adults, preferred
  • Prior experience working with at-risk populations and trauma training preferred
  • Knowledge of age appropriate independent living skills strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusion, diversity, equity and antiracism in working with clients from many different backgrounds
  • Demonstrated ability to use sound discretion and independent judgment developing and implementing decisions
  • Demonstrated ability to maneuver well in crisis situations, work well with others, and flexibility (including work days and schedule)
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid Driver's License
  • At Least 21 Years of Age
  • Physically Active and Able to Perform Normal Physical Functions (Lifting, Bending, Stretching)
  • Must successfully complete extensive background checks, interviews, and pre-hire drug screen
